Announcing: Tori New Leash on Life trainee

My name is Victoria or Tory for short. Do you like my mask? I will be entering the New Leash on Life Program on Valentine's Day. I might be large, but I am really gentle. I have so much love to give. If a loving family needs an intelligent, relaxed, sweet marshmallow, I'm their girl. Everyone thinks I am a Collie/St. Bernard mix. I'm still a pup at 6 to 8 months, and I can’t figure out why someone took me to a shelter. I need to have more self-confidence but my New Leash on Life training will help me be more outgoing. Just recently, I was walking around Tractor Supply, with the ladies who rescued me, looking for dog food and meeting new people. Everyone commented on what a nice, gentle girl I was. I did not pull on my leash and when the ladies stopped to shop, I would lay down and wait. I heard one of them say I would make a good service dog since I am so patient.

All New Leash on Life dogs are fully vetted, altered, heartworm tested, and micro chipped. After they've graduated from the New Leash on Life program they have 8 weeks of crate training, housebreaking, leash experience, with some obedience and agility work. If you're interested in adopting one of our dogs contact Kathy at 703-819-8835 or Jackie at 252-649-5504 and fill out an adoption application at Pamlicopaws.net. All adopting families are invited to their dog's graduation.

Announcing: Moana New Leash on Life trainee

Hi there! My name is Moana and I will be going into the New Leash on Life program on Valentine's Day. Look deep into my big blue eyes and let me mesmerize you with my charming good looks. I am playful and energetic. If I get a little too energetic, it's O.K. because I am obedient. My previous owner took me to the shelter because they moved away. I am only about 1 year old, so I have a lot of love to give and a long life ahead of me. I am a medium to large Husky/Cattle dog who enjoys playing at the dog park or a brisk hike. I would like to find a forever family that loves the outdoors and may have another dog for me to play with. Walking is just not enough. I will need a place where I can run and play. I will be ready to throw my heart your way in a few weeks.

Announcing: Mary New Leash on Life trainee

Hello, I'm Mary. I am going into the New Leash on Life program on Valentine's Day. I am small enough to snuggle into your lap, but big enough to steal your heart. I am truly a lapdog. I am not quite sure about my lineage, but best guess is I am a Hound/Chihuahua mix. As you can see, I have the urge to point. I am only 1 or 2 years old, so I have loads of time to give my new owner lots of love . Being that I am small, I have learned to socialize with both dogs and cats but I prefer to cuddle. You might think that I might always want your attention and you would be right. But as the song goes, "If loving you is wrong, I don't want to be right!" I'll be graduating from Pamlico's New Leash on Life program in early April.

Lost: Fly rod and reel
Was going thru my fishing gear and discovered I was missing a fly rod and reel. Believe the last time I used it was on Pierce Creek docks, could have been left on the side of the road on Sandpiper. If you found it I would appreciate you contacting me, I can identify rod and reel. Reward will be given. Thank you.

Found: Santas Elf Located & Mitten Returned

Update- As luck would have it, one of Santa's helpers, a nice gal who moved here from western PA (and a new Mildred Street neighbor) claimed the mitten for her grandson who was visiting. She relayed to me that Santa wasn't buying my assessment of my behavior during 2017. Further, he said my being born and raised in WV, I should recognize the lump of coal he has for my stocking as being a better than average grade. (...sigh...)

With Christmas so close, we can't have one of Santa's elves going around with just one mitten. The tiny red mitten for a right hand was found in Lou Mac Park.

PS- Contact me, Santa! BTW...I’ve been a very good boy this year...
