Announcing: New Leash on Life Dog Looking for Forever Family

Being a young mother and now an empty nester, I am ready to learn, prove my loyalty and have fun. I’m Jazz-Z, and I will be so happy to meet your friends, especially, if they have dogs and older kids. I already get along with my New Leash on Life classmates. I would be the perfect pup to add to any family who enjoy being together. My mom and dad who were a boxer and a beagle must have been beautiful and bright because so am I, inside and out. I am only 9 months old, so I will have a long time with my forever family. I am young at heart and hope there is someone out there who has a heart for me. Are you the one? If you are, you can take me home on graduation day in October.

Join our Pamlico Animal Welfare Society Facebook Group to see Jazz-Z's video.

Jazz-Z will graduate from the New Leash on Life program in December. If you would like to adopt Jazz-Z, please fill out an adoption application on our PAWS website, www.pamlicopaws.net. Any questions, call Sue at 252-626-3899 or Kathy at 703-819-8835. If you would like to sponsor Jazz-Z, become a PAWS member or make a donation, please visit our website.

Announcing: New Leash on Life Dog Looking for Forever Family

Leo has been adopted.

This is Leo. Leo graduated from the New Leash on Life Program in 2016. Leo's owners are returning Leo to PAWS because they are unable to take care of him due to reasons unforeseen. It is in the Adoption Application that a New Leash on Life dog is to be returned only to PAWS if the family is unable to take care of them.

In 2016, Leo was described as an easy going little guy that just wants to curl up in your lap while you watch TV.

A low maintenance gentleman who is very treat motivated, we think Leo is a dachshund beagle mix. Leo is great with large or small dogs and finds cats likable. He gets very excited around children because he enjoys having fun with them. He is around 3 years old.

Leo will be sad, but we will help him to be happy again.

If you would like to adopt Leo, please fill out an application on our PAWS website, www.pamlicopaws.net, or call Sue, at 252-626-3899 or Kathy at 703-819-8835. If you would like to sponsor a NLOL dog or become a member, please visit our website and donate.

Alice has been adopted.

This is Alice. She is 7 months old and we believe she is a mix of Beagle/Chihuahua. The shelter paperwork said shepherd mix, but her foster mom doesn’t think she will get that big. Alice was an owner turn-in when her owner moved out of the country without her. She is great with other dogs and kids (8 and up). We are unsure about Alice with cats.

Alice has a beautiful coat that reminds you of chocolate. She is a lot of fun, always has a smile on her face and loves her treats. Another favorite will be your lap. She graduates on August 22. Join our Pamlico Animal Welfare Society Facebook Group to see Alice's video.

Alice will graduate from the New Leash on Life program in August. If you would like to adopt Alice, please fill out an application on our PAWS website, www.pamlicopaws.net, or call Sue, at 252-626-3899 or Kathy at 703-819-8835. If you would like to sponsor Alice or become a PAWS member, please visit our website.

Announcing: New Leash on Life Dog Looking for Forever Family

Jenni has been adopted.

This is Jenni. She is 7 months old and probably is Terrier/Retriever mix. A DNA test will soon tell. During a trip to PetSmart, we learned that Jenni loves kids and really wanted to get their attention and play. Cats in the home are not a good idea, as she growled and barked at the cat display.
Jenni is so sweet and well-behaved. She is doing well in class and is getting along with all the dogs in the program. She is having fun swimming with her buddie Tank.

Jenni will graduate from the New Leash on Life program in August. If you would like to adopt Jenni, please fill out an application on our PAWS website, www.pamlicopaws.net, or call Sue, at 252-626-3899 or Kathy at 703-819-8835. If you would like to sponsor Jenni or become a PAWS member, please visit our website.

Announcing: New Leash On Life Dog Looking for Furever Family

Gigi has been adopted.

My name is Gigi. I am about 9 months old. I am a border collie mix and probably won't be more than 50 lbs when I am full grown. I have been at the New Leash on Life Program for the past 8 weeks and am getting ready to graduate on June 27th. I have been described as a "perfect" pup because I am not overly energetic but am willing to step up to any training challenge. My New Leash on Life trainer says that I am one of the smartest, most responsive, sweetest pups he has ever had to the pleasure to work worth with in the NLOL program. All I want is for someone to adopt me so that I can show them how much I have to offer. I would love to be part of your family.

All NLOL dogs are fully vetted, up to date on vaccines and spayed or neutered. When they graduate from The Pamlico Correctional Institution, they will have 8 weeks of crate and housebreaking training along with basic obedience and agility training. If you think Gigi could be part of your family, please call Jackie Schmidt at 252-649-5504.
