The “new” Dragon was all set to run Chinese New Year (Thursday Feb 19, 2015)… but a forecast for sub-freezing temperatures & 20 mph winds had organizers thinking it all sounded a little less fun.
But we still get to see it… thanks to the mind and drawing hand of Laura. Laura even added a goat, which even with balmy temps you might not have actually seen on Hodges Street. Local Dragon experts may notice that the dragon in the drawing is actually the classic New Year’s Dragon (not the new Chinese Dragon). Call it artistic license (or “mistakes were made”).
Either way… presenting the Hodges Street 2015 / 4713 Chinese New Year run that didn’t happen. Add your own noise…
Laura Turgeon and her husband Gil Fontes live in Oriental. When they are not out looking at boats Laura and Gil are often seen with drawing instruments or paint brushes in hand. More of Laura's work can be found at her site LauraTurgeon.com.
