Croakerfest is always the weekend-with-the-first-Saturday in July. The 2016 Croakerfest is happening Friday-Saturday-Sunday July 1, 2 and 3. Organizers have picked as the theme for this year’s Croakerfest: Embrace Your Volunteer Spirit. Things start off at Lou-Mac Park on Friday afternoon at 4p with the Pamlico Chorale and Pamlico Community Band. This year a cannon has been added to the opening festivities. Saturday has the parade at 10a, and vendors, food and music at the park all day. Regatta out on the Neuse in the afternooon. Fireworks Saturday night. And new this year, a gospel music sing in the park Sunday afternoon.
