The Coast Guard Auxiliary and the Lower Neuse Anglers (Oriental’s recreational fishing club) has been sponsoring boat safety inspections this past month – and the last one is coming up Saturday June 17,2017 from 10a-noon at Whittaker Point Marina. The boat owner will be given a 2017 decal certifying that the boat has passed the safety inspection. This certification will minimize any extended inspection by our recreational safety officers this year. There is no cost for the inspection which should take approximately 30 minutes. Boats may be brought to Whittaker Point Marina in the water or on a trailer. For any questions, please call Bob Webster of the Coast Guard Auxiliary at 252/249-2426.
