Coming Events in Oriental and in and near Pamlico County
The 5th Annual Chili Cookoff is happening on Saturday September 22 from 11a-2p on the grounds of the Oriental Marina.
Ten businesses in town are competing, some with more than one style of chili. There’ll be traditional chili and some innovative takes on the recipe. Judging will come on several levels — the Dragon Chili Champ chosen by a team of judges and the People’s Choice Award, decided by the crowd. Tickets are $7 and gets you a sampling of all the chilis — and a vote. This is a big fundraiser for the Old Theater. For more info, contact Marlene Miller at 249-2827.
