The Friends of Oriental’s History (FOOH) holds its annual meeting on Sunday October 28 at 2p at the Old Theater on Broad Street. The featured speaker will be Sherrill Styron who will be talking about “The Heyday of the Fishing Industry.” Refreshments will be served. This event has had to be postponed due to Hurricane Sandy. It will be rescheduled, say the Museum folks.)
Meanwhile, the Oriental History Museum’s exhibit, “Fishing for a Living” runs from October through January. Oriental’s History Museum is located at 802 Broad Street in Oriental. Hours are: Friday 11a-3p, Saturdays Noon-4p and Sunday 1-4p. Admission to the Museum is always free. For more information contact museum@dockline.net
