Get rid of the toxic waste at your house. Coming up on Saturday, October 15 2016 from 9a-noon is the next Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day at the Pamlico Courthouse parking lot. (This is the pickup originally scheduled for October 8 until Matthew rearranged many schedules.) Basically,the Haz Waste Collection Day is about clearing away the kind of things we have around our homes that shouldn’t go to the landfill. You can dispose of cans of paint, used motor oil, pesticides, gas, cooking oil, antifreeze, drain openers, paint thinners.

There are things they will not take. For instance gas cylinders, explosives, ammunition, or infectious, biological and radioactive wastes. And nothing from businesses, contractors or otherwise commercial sources. As for electronica, you can drop them off anytime during the year at the dump/transfer station on Hwy 306.
