The Village Gallery features the work of New Bern painter John Hanley who is the art gallery’s guest artist for June. In his paintings, John captures scenes of the area that will be familiar, and at the same time, fresh. John is one of the partners in Craven Artworks & Company and is the talent behind “Captain Black Bear’d,” the large bear standing outside the Comfort Suites hotel in New Bern. His paintings will be on display at Village Gallery through the month of June, along with the works of the Gallery’s resident artists. Village Gallery is on Hodges Street near the harbor and is open Wednesday through Sunday, 10a-5p.
