The newly-formed River Time Civitan Club’s No Child Wet Behind campaign is underway. During the month of August they are collecting boxes of disposable diapers to give to low-income families in Pamlico County. Diapers can cost $100 a month and newborns can go thru 8-10 diapers a day – if changed when needed. As a Civitan press release notes, when money is tight, diapers may not be changed as often, which can lead to infection. That’s where the No Child Wet Behind campaign comes in.

Diaper donations may be brought to Oriental United Methodist Church, Arapahoe Charter School, Pamlico Pharmacy or the Pamlico Partnership For Children. Diapers for adults also welcomed.
