The Pamlico Community Band’s fall concert will be at Oriental’s Old Theater on Saturday, October 27 at 7:30p. Admission is free (but a donation is always welcome.) (This concert has been cancelled because of Hurricane Sandy.)

Meanwhile, if you’d like to play an instrument again, the Community Band welcomes you. They have instruments for percussionists, while those with trumpet, flute, clarinet, tuba, sax and trombone would bring their own. Even if you’ve not played in a band in decades, Becky Ackiss encourages you to give the Community Band a try. She says many of the current band members resumed playing after years away.
