Pamlico County NAACP’s Mother of the Year Banquet is happening Saturday evening, June 2 at Pamlico Community College. The chicken dinner event at PCC’s Delamar Center. begins at 6p. The featured speaker is civil rights attorney Anita Earls, who is a candidate for the NC Supreme Court.

Anita Earls has 30 years’ experience litigating voting rights and other civil rights cases. She founded the Southern Coalition for Social Justice, a non-profit legal advocacy organization in Durham, and has served as its executive director. More info here.
