Coming Events in Oriental and in and near Pamlico County

  • Pamlico Wildlife @ O'tal Museum - Til April 2018

Coyotes, bobcats and minks. They are just some of the Pamlico County wildlife featured in a new exhibit at Oriental’s History Museum. The various species – bears to weasels – are profiled alongside photos from local photographers. You’ll also have a chance to see a bobcat – (preserved by a taxidermist after the animal met an untimely death on Hwy 55 near Stonewall.) More, here.

The exhibit will be up through mid-April, 2018. Oriental’s History Museum is located at 802 Broad Street in Oriental. Museum hours: Friday 11-3, Saturday 1-4, Sunday 1-4. Admission is always free with donations gratefully accepted.

The museum welcomes additional wildlife photos taken in the area. For more information on adding to the display, contact the museum at museum@dockline.net.
