  • Have some garden chemicals you’d like to get rid of? To help you do that in a way that is safe for both you and the environment, Pamlico County Cooperative Extension is offering a Pesticide Collection Day on Tuesday March 13, 2018 from 10a til 2p. Residents of Pamlico and surrounding counties may bring their no-longer-wanted yard chemicals to the collection site at the Pamlico County Historical Association Museum on Hwy in Grantsboro.

    This is not limited to chemicals that kill insects – herbicides, fungicides and fertilizer mixes containing any of the -cides may be dropped off as well. Before bringing any unlabeled containers or liquids in containers larger than 5 gallons, you are asked to first contact the collection site manager, Daniel Simpson, Agricultural Extension Agent for Pamlico County (252-745-4545 or email daniel_simpson@ncsu.edu Cooperative Extension can also provide info on how to dispose of gas cylinders, which will not be accepted at the collection site on March 13.
