Coming Events in Oriental and in and near Pamlico County
The new fiscal year starts on July 1 for the Town of Oriental. Three days before that, on June 28 at 6p the Town Board will hold a public hearing on the proposed budget for the 2012-2013 fiscal year. A statement from Town Hall says that the proposed budget “has been presented to the Town Commissioners” and that the public can inspect a copy of the budget at Town Hall during business hours which are 8a-5p Monday thru Thursday and 8a-3p on Friday. The Public Hearing is an opportunity for the public to weigh in on the budget. The hearing takes place at the First Baptist Church. Those with questions may call Town Hall at 249-0555.
