Share your love of reading and make a difference. Heartworks is seeking adult volunteers who’d be able to read with a 3rd grader at Heartworks one hour a week. Heartworks, the afterschool center for Pamlico County children has about a half dozen 3rd graders who are having trouble comprehending what they read. Their teachers suggest that could be turned around if, outside of the classroom, each child had an adult with whom they could read and talk about what has been read.

Prospective volunteers are invited to attend an info session about this volunteer effort on Monday, February 20, 2017 at 1p at HeartWorks, 709 Main Street, Bayboro.
