The Carolinian Shakespeare Festival is returning to Oriental’s Old Theater on Wednesday, August 8 at 7p for what’s called a Fringe Event. The Fringe tradition of focusing on The Bard’s history plays, continues with concert readings of “Henry IV, Part 2.”
The actors, mainly from NY (who are staging “Much Ado About Nothing” in New Bern) will be reading selections about one of Shakespeare’s most lovable characters, Falstaff, and the prince who would become England’s most loved king, Henry V. (These informal readings, we’re told, will also bring some clarity to what the War of the Roses was all about.) No charge for this chance to hear some Shakespeare on the Old Theater stage here in Oriental-on-Neuse.
