Underground RR Talk - Feb 23 2017

Historian Leesa Jones was writing a book for her grandchildren about their ancestors when she discovered the Pamlico River’s link to the Underground Railroad. On Thursday, February 23 2017at 6:30p, at the Pamlico Library, Leesa Jones will share her research on the role Eastern North Carolina played in helping slaves escape to non-slave territory. Learn how the Pamlico and local river towns shaped the world and lives of slaves breaking for freedom. No registration required. This event is free and sponsored by the Friends of Pamlico County Library and the Pamlico County NAACP. The library is at 603 Main Street, Bayboro.
