The second Sunday in August means watermelon served up on the front lawn at Fay and John Bond’s home at Ragan Road and Neuse Drive. John passed away late last year, but Fay continues the tradition that stretches back to the 1960’s. She and her family will be serving up watermelon on Sunday, August 12 at 4p. Come by, enjoy some watermelon from Bertie County (and leave a rind for the turtles in the creek.)
