The Village Gallery will be showing works in memory of Robert (Bob) Elijah Pittman at the Gallery during the month of February 2017. Bob, who passed away last year, said he was compelled to paint as long as he could hold a brush in his hand. By his account, his first painting as an adult was a paint-by-number landscape but he turned that hobby in to a vocation after retiring to Oriental from a career in civil engineering. His paintings – often of coastal scenes and of Oriental in particular – are in many public and private collections.

The Gallery is located at 300 Hodges Street in Oriental. Winter hours at the gallery are Thursdays through Sundays from 10a until 5p.
