Jim Edwards thought the Sailing Capital of NC ought to have a place, in town, where kids could learn to sail. Starting June 9, that’ll be happening, with Bow-to-Stern Sailing School’s Youth Sailing Camps, where kids 7 – 15 can learn to sail. They’ll sail Optimist class dinghies that woodworkers in town have built for the effort. The classes will be all day, from 9a-5p, Mondays thru Fridays. Cost is $200 a week — with a 20% discount for siblings —- and scholarships are available.
(On Sunday afternoon June 1st, there’ll be a Blessing of the Fleet and celebration of the newly built boat racks at Grace Evans’s yard. More details coming soon.) If you want more details on the sailing camps or would like to register for it, call Jim at 252-474-6000. For more info, download the Youth Sailing Clinic flyer – click here.
