What's MobileCam?
MobileCam is a web cam mounted on a little red wagon.
Really.
While “big city” news operations have those satellite trucks, in Oriental the remote news vehicle is a red wagon, complete with a web cam, wireless internet connection, onboard battery power and battery charger. MobileCam even has running lights.
MobileCam is deployed to bring back pictures from events in Oriental (The Croaker Festival, Pet Parade, etc), but often MobileCam is just simply set out to take some nice photos of the harbor.The MobileCam slide shows let you see the archived photos. There are 24 hours of archives. With MobileCam that can actually mean photos taken over several days or even weeks – the cam is usually only on for a few hours once or twice a week.
When viewing the slide shows you can “stop the show” by simply putting the cursor anywhere over the photo. The show will freeze while the cursor is over the photo – then resume as soon as you move it off.
