iver Dunes played host Saturday to the 7th Annual Oriental Dragon Boat Festival. There was more than just boat races.

During the noon lunch break between heats, the master of ceremonies called Billy Flockhart to the dais and handed him the microphone. Flockhart, the owner of Oriental’s new Piggly Wiggly Store, the Piglet, offered gratitude to all those who had been so supportive of his new store. He then paused, placed his hand over his head before calling out a member of those assembled to come forward, that someone … his girlfriend Elizabeth.

After expressing thanks for the patronage of his new grocery store in Oriental, Billy Flockhart paused as if in deep contemplation.

The request for Elizabeth to approach.

With hundreds watching and listening anxiously, she approached. Flockhart procured a zip-lock bag from his pocket and retrieved…

…a ring. He knelt.

The question.

Contemplation.

The answer, almost inaudible.

The answer, demonstratively acknowledged.
