t’s a show within the Boat Show – the Oriental Nautical Flea Market.

Tom Stone of the Oriental Rotary tightens the lines of the tent for the Nautical Flea Market at the Oriental Boat Show. Saturday and Sunday’s weather should not require the fine-tuning that Friday’s winds did.

Many who head to the Nautical Flea Market tent do so for the joy of the hunt for a good deal. But those items laid out for sale suggest stories, too – whether the nautical pieces were put to use for years, or put away a while ago, of plans lived, or dreamed about.

Here’s some of what was out on the tables Friday.

A compass, a flare gun and other necessities on a boat.

PFDs.

One end of the flea market tent.

Lures.

Underwater togs.

Nameplate and block.

Yes, there can be a Billy Bass in your future….

The Nautical Flea Market — and all of the Oriental Boat Show — will be open from 10a-6p on Saturday and 11a-3p on Sunday.
