The Year of the Rooster arrived on Saturday, January 28 and Oriental continued its now 6-year old tradition of running a dragon to welcome the Chinese New Year. More than a hundred people turned out for the mid-afternoon appearance of the serpentine red dragon on Hodges at the Town Dock.Oriental’s Chinese dragon in a dance spiral on Hodges Street to welcome the Year of the Rooster. Saturday, January 28 was the start of the Chinese New Year – also in other Asian calendars. And in Oriental as well.The dragon run starts at Hodges and South Water.
