The tallies were 39% (582 votes) for Delamar, 33 % (495 votes) for Humphries, 16% or 245 votes for Garry Cooper and 11% or 169 votes for Hawkins. There was one write in.

Justice Race No Winner, Just Winnowing

Meanwhile, in Pamlico County, voters put incumbent NC Supreme Court justice Robin Hudson at the top of the voting, with 59 percent (413 votes) to Eric Levinson’s 21% (150 votes) and Jeanette Doran’s 20% (140 votes). The Supreme Court race was a winnowing process. The top two vote getters statewide — Hudson and Levinson – will face off again in the fall. While the race was supposed to be non-partisan, it was anything but non-political. It was an open secret that Hudson is a Democrat and Levinson and Doran were Republicans.
