S
aturday night 225 attended the 2014 Hope Clinic Ball, supporting Hope Clinics major fundraiser of the year. It may be the one time each year that one sees Oriental & Pamlico County residents dress fancy. Among the 2014 attendees was Joe Mattea, who sent in these photos in slideshow/movie form:

The 2014 Hope Clinic Ball landed on the same night as a Pamlico Music Society event – organizers say the result was somewhat lower Ball attendance.

Greg Piner explains:

The Hope Ball is Hope Clinic’s largest fundraiser of the year. Some regular attendees were unable to join us this year due to a scheduling conflicts.

The need for free medical care in Pamlico County is great. The county is medically underserved, ranking 91st in North Carolina, with no acute care facility. Forty-one percent of the county’s 13,000 residents suffer from chronic illnesses, including high blood pressure, diabetes, and asthma. These individuals need regular healthcare monitoring, medications, and education to be able to work and care for their families.

If you were unable to joins us, please consider making a monetary donation to be a part of our largest fundraising event of the year.

To support the Hope Clinic:

  • Checks may be sent to HOPE Clinic Box 728, Bayboro, NC 28515
