innesott Golf and Country Club partnered with the the Town of Minnesott Beach to stage the inaugural Minnesott Community Day Parade Saturday. Community Day means a parade…. starting from Town Hall and marching to Minnesott Country Club.

Residents turned out en masse (at least semi-en-masse) with decorated golf carts. They were joined by parade entries which included the Sheriff and two emergency vehicles from Arapahoe Fire and Rescue. El Toro, the Mean Greens Machine, mowed through the parade.

The Greely familes preceded the parade with three boxers and three young lasses.

Warming up for the parade, there was dancing in the street.

Carol Wright, managed the free water cart for parade participants. There was no free beer wagon.

Is there a local ordinance requiring fire protection for all parades in Pamlico County?

From boxers to a Hawaiian luau, the parade had something for all.

Minnesott Commissioner Carolyn Casey on the first Community Day: “We hope this will be the humble beginning of what becomes an annual event, growing each year. This fosters a sense of community among neighborhoods of Minnessott Beach and the country club.”
