Ol' Front Porch Music Festival Quilt
Mysterious quilt up for bid
June 6, 2019

T
here’s a quilt, with a bit of a mysterious past, at the First Citizens Bank. Dottie Osmun, director of the Ol’ Front Porch Music Festival, says the unfinished black and white quilt was donated to the Festival’s fundraising Art on the Porch sale several years ago. There was no name attached to the donation and no one remembers who handed them over.

Osmun and her crew decided to give the piece over to the Green House Quilters, a group of ladies from Oriental and surrounding areas who meet in the green house behind the Episcopal Church. They finished the queen size quilt and it is now on display.

Dottie Osmun and the Ol’ Front Porch Music Festival are raffling off the quilt as part of their fundraising efforts. Tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20. The drawing is on October 5, at the Ol’ Front Porch Music Festival.

The quilt can be viewed, and tickets bought, at First Citizens Bank on Broad Street.
