A bird rests on the remains of a pier off of South Avenue. For a year, the Town was planning to rebuild the dock along that 80 foot harborfront and give Oriental a second free town dock for visiting boaters. But in recent months, the Town has been poised to swap that land and water and additional right of way in order to get a smaller nearby lot with a dock. (which, as it turns out, might also have to be replaced) Some in town suggest the Town is not getting enough in the swap. The Town Board could vote on the issue today..
