Maya and Lauren Bell on the steps of the Oriental Village Veterinary Hospital on Friday. This morning, Maya is in Cary getting surgery to replace the skin and part of her hind leg that disintegrated after what is thought to have been a brown recluse spider bite. A fund has been started – the Maya Fund – to help Lauren defray the $2,000 cost of the specialty surgery. More on Maya, Lauren and the story coming up.
