The Duck Pond dragon in profile moments before being re-launched in to the Duck Pond Sunday afternoon. Sculptor Gary Gresko worked over the past 2-1/2 months to beef up the keel — lead and copper — and restore the dragon’s glass scales, and install sticks as a strategy to keep birds from picking off the scales. (Within 5 minutes of the launch Sunday, a green heron perched on the dragon’s tail.)
