Concrete was poured this week for a porch that will extend along the Broad as well as Church Street sides of the renovated Town Hall. A few feet of concrete poured inside will raise the floor of the building, to avoid a repeat of Hurricane Irene’s flooding. The near side will hold the expanded office space, two former garage bays will become the meeting room, while the far end will become a police station and public restroom. Estimated cost: approximately $290,000. About a fifth may be payable via grant, the rest from the town’s fund and a possible loan.
