The southeast side of Oriental’s harbor. Part of that green area is where South Avenue ends at the waterfront. Public access to that area and to the harbor took a hit in recent days when Superior Court Judge Ken Crow sided with a man who claimed that he, and not the town, owned the 60 feet of waterfront at the end of the street. The judge’s summary judgment — without having a trial — has caught town officials by surprise.
