Tropical Depression 9 was declared at 5am this morning. It is expected to strengthen, and will become Tropical Storm Isaac later today or Wednesday. Within 2 to 3 days it is expected to gain hurricane strength. The official 5 day track (above) from the National Hurricane Center looks like it will stay south.
However, when one looks at the multiple computer models that go out more into the future, there is cause for concern:
