Miss
August 2002 - Sally Casey
Our
first Pet of the Month honors go to Sally,
Ben and Emmy Casey's new beagle.
She showed up at their yard in Janiero a week or two ago and
has been coming to The Bean with Ben most mornings since. The
judges were taken by Sally's energy (she IS a beagle, after
all) and her friendliness; she greets everyone who comes to
the porch.
But what really sealed it for the judges was Sally's dexterity.

Ever
cautious, Sally checks before backing up |
Even
when Ben leaves Sally in his car (for those checking in on HarborCam,
it's the white Honda SUV near the Town Dock) she has found a
way of making her presence known. She's gone from barking to
laying on the horn. Repeatedly. Ben says that she also can change
the stations of the radio, (There are unsubstantiated reports
that she can steer Ben's boat while he shoots pictures of dolphins,
but we're still checking in to that....)
Congratulations to Sally and Ben and Emmy Casey.
