For Sale: Two 3YM20 Yanmar Engines with Kanzaki Transmissions. $1,500 each or $2,800 for both or make an offer. Why: Engines were removed from a catamaran in good working order for an electric propulsion project. Engines were carried off the boat by hand, so all accessories, intake, exhaust and cylinder heads were removed to reduce weight. All components were immediately reassembled (hardware is finger tight) to ensure that no hardware was misplaced. No wear noted on heads, valves, cylinder walls or pistons when head was removed. What do they need: Buyer will need to purchase a cylinder head gasket kit to reinstall heads, intake, water pump, thermostat, exhaust, etc... Since the head is accessible, I recommend having a machine shop give it a once-over and have injector spray patterns tested. Other than that, the engines and transmissions were working perfectly a month ago. They recently powered the boat from Key Largo to Oriental, NC with no issues. Although little can be found on this model, I have been told that she was modified from the Rhodes designed Meridian 24 by Bill Tripp when he was designing for Seafarer. She has a very dependable Johnson 9.9 with an electric start in a motor well. Large V-berth forward w/ concealed head.
