Pamlico Arts Council holds the 1st Annual Dragon Burn Saturday Feb 2 at The Red Rooster (behind The Silos.) What’s a Dragon Burn? Think Burning Man, brought to Oriental. With a dragon.

A dragon is being constructed of wood (and stuff.) It’s about 20 ft tall. Really. And we’re gonna light it. And because it’s The Chinese Year Of The Pig, bacon is on tap. A bacon festival at the Dragon Burn. Bacon wrapped everything. If its a meat, its gettin’ wrapped in bacon. Bacon wrapped shrimp. Bacon kabobs. Even bacon wrapped chocolate. Saltwater Gold plays tunes to burn by.

It starts at 2p and runs until dark – at dusk the dragon burns. Attendance is $25. Which makes you a Pamlico Arts member (members get in free) and you’re helping support the Arts in Pamlico County. Fear not – the Oriental Fire Dept will be attending.
