Pastor Anne of Oriental United Methodist Church and Father Bruce of St. Thomas Episcopal Church together hold The Blessing of the Animals, Sunday, Oct 3 at 3p at the Labyrinth located across from Lou Mac Park on South Ave.

The Blessing of the Animals service is a tradition in many Catholic and Episcopal Churches, and many Methodist Churches. It’s a simple service consisting of a brief prayer. Pets may then be brought forward for an individual blessing, in the tradition of St. Francis of Assisi.

All pets are welcome. Pastor Anne and Father Bruce only ask that they are on a leash or properly contained. If your pet does not do well with others, please use a carrier or bring a picture of your pet. If your animal companion has passed away, feel free to bring a photo or just bring them in your heart.

Please follow CDC guidelines for safe gathering outdoors. We should have plenty of room.
