The highly acclaimed Kruger Brothers are a fixture in the acoustic world – infusing elements of classical & folks music into something their own. Hosted by the Pamlico Musical Society, the Kruger Brothers perform at The Silos’ Red Rooster Stage Friday, Oct 26 7:30p, rain or shine (the seating area will be tented over.) Gates open at 6p. Originally from Switzerland, brothers Uwe and Jens Kruger began playing North American folk music at an early age and were particularly inspired by recordings of Doc Watson, Flatt and Scruggs, Bill Monroe, and other progenitors of country, bluegrass and folk music. Writer Dave Higgs says: “They defy description, categorization and convention. In a world of bands that are sounding more and more frighteningly alike, they stand alone, fearlessly exploring new musical waters with a level of excitement, energy and creativity, the likes of which the genre hasn’t seen before.”
