Oriental's Boy Scout Troop 184 Exhibit @ Oriental Museum Did you know there was a Boy Scout Troop in Oriental? Back in the early 1950s local resident Fred Latham started a troop with ten boys. For the next twenty years, over 81 boys from the local area became scouts in Troop 184.
The Museum’s fall exhibit honors Oriental’s Boy Scout troops. Exhibit items, featuring memorabilia, troop history, scouting details and information, have been loaned to the museum by scouts from those troops.
Oriental’s History Museum is located at 802 Broad Street. Hours are: Friday 11-3, Saturday & Sunday 1-4. Admission is always free, donations gratefully accepted. For more information contact us: museum@dockline.net
