The Pamlico Partners for Democracy hold a public forum Thursday, August 15 at 7p at the Pamlico County Courthouse. Constitutional scholar & author Gene Nichol presents on Challenges to Democracy & Equality. All are invited.
Nichol is an award winning scholar and author. He author of three books on North Carolina politics and society:
• Lessons From North Carolina: Race, Religion, Tribe and the Future of America
• Indecent Assembly: The North Carolina Legislature’s Blueprint for the War against Democracy and Equality
• The Faces of Poverty in North Carolina: Stories from Our Invisible Citizens.
Nichol is the recipient of the American Bar Association’s Edward Finch Award, the Religious Freedom Foundation’s Thomas Jefferson Award for the defense of religious liberty, the North Carolina Council of Churches, Faith in Public Life Award and UNC’s highest award for teaching excellence.
