Pamlico Musical Society presents Ranky Tanky, Saturday, November 17 @ 7:30p.

Loosely translated as “Get Funky”, Ranky Tanky is a band of South Carolina natives who keep the Gullah musical tradition alive and fresh with a repertoire of playful game songs, heartbreaking spirituals, and delicate lullabies. The musical roots of Charleston, SC are “rank” and fertile ground from which these contemporary artists are grateful to have grown. A seminal Charleston jazz quartet and one of the most sought-after vocalists in the Low country have joined together to celebrate a “Heartland of American Music” born in their own backyards.
