The Old Theater moves their ‘Friday Flick’ outside to the Red Rooster. The Old Theater presents Scrooged Friday, December 11, at 6:0p.
Scrooged is a modern retelling of Charles Dickens’ classic A Christmas Carol.
A few days before Christmas Frank Cross (Bill Murray), a cynical, selfish television network executive, tries to stage a live version of A Christmas Carol.
His greed catches up with him one night when he is haunted by four ghosts: his old boss, a rough cigar-smoking taxi driver, an angelic but brutal pink fairy, and the dark Ghost of Christmas Future. All give Cross a look at the bleak reality his choices have created for those around him and himself.
Scrooged remains true to the original message of Dickens’ classic while giving a comedic spin and commenting on the over commercialization of the holiday season.
Gates open at 5:30, movie starts 6:00p. The Red Rooster is behind The Silos on Highway 55 in Oriental. Bring your chair or park your golf cart. Admission by donation and includes FREE popcorn. There’s a 50/50 raffle to benefit the Old Theater. Rain date is Dec. 18.
