Oriental’s History Museum celebrates the ratification of the 19th Amendment – giving women the right to vote – with a special exhibit through June: The Women’s Suffrage Movement

The exhibit tells the story of the movement and the women and men who took part in the struggle. On display will be the Pamlico County 1920 women’s voter registration lists. Maybe your grandmother or great-grandmother registered to vote. Forty-nine women in Oriental did just that.

This exhibit closes the end of June. The museum is located at 802 Broad Street. Hours are Friday 11 – 1 and Saturday, 1 – 4. Not open on Sundays for the foreseeable future.The Museum is always free, but donations are gratefully accepted. For more information contact us at museum@dockline.net.
