Youth as Crew Afloat - Feb 4The US Coast Guard Auxiliary presents Youth as Crew Afloat – a class for crew ages 10 to 16 at Fairfield Harbor Property Owners Association on Saturday, February 4, 9a – 12:30p.
This class includes hands on communications, marlinspike, handling emergencies, assuming that the adult is incapacitated and the youth aboard are now in command.
This is the youth version of ‘Suddenly in Command’ and is the first time it is being taught. This course is uniquely designed to add confidence for young people on boats and improve understanding, safety and skills.
The course is taught by Certified USCG Auxiliary instructors. Cost is $10 (additional household members are free). Fairfield Harbor Property Owners Association is at 902 Coral Reef Dr, New Bern, NC.
