OFPMF Thanks Oriental
Rain Didn't Dampen The Music Festival
October 14, 2021

R
ain was part of the 2021 Ol’ Front Porch Music Festival. One might guess that could cancel an outdoor music event. It didn’t. Festival goers got out their umbrellas and rain gear… and attended a magic event. Festival President Dottie Osmun writes in:
This past weekend’s dismal weather did not dampen the spirits of our hardy festival crowd!  The fans came in droves from all areas of NC to hear the Ol’ Front Porch Music Festival’s salute to North Carolina music played on porch venues all around town.

We thank all Oriental’s businesses, shops, eateries, and places of lodging for accommodating our music lovers, my making them feel so welcome.  Thanks to Diane Miller and her Town Hall staff for all their help with road closures; thanks to Oriental United Methodist Church for the use of their property, inside and out; thanks to the residents within the festival footprint for graciously putting up with increased traffic, parking, and noise; and a very sincere “thank you” to all the sponsors and donors who so generously supported the OFPMF.  Lastly, we thank all our dedicated volunteers who work to make this musical event a reality each year.
