The Cherry Branch – Minnesott Beach Ferry went on a reduced schedule at the end of March due to the coronavirus and North Carolina’s Stay-At-home Orders. Really reduced: one run every two hours. That meant a total of six runs per terminal, per day.In May, the schedule increased. From six runs to a near-normal 17.
There is another increase on December 1. That Tuesday, the Cherry Branch – Minnesott Beach Ferry will return to full service. That’s 28 departures from each terminal daily with all three ferries in service.

From the NC Department of Transportation:Ferry passengers are reminded to observe all COVID-related safety measures, including remaining in vehicles whenever possible. All passengers should wear face coverings and practice social distancing when out on ferry decks or in passenger lounges.
