March 13, 2019

Y
ou have the chance to help a local hero get recognized as an NC School Hero. Lois Moye, an Oriental resident, was nominated by her former student, Jenny Jones. Jones said Moye, “has made an impact by helping students develop a good mindset before entering the adult world. Her methods of teaching are like any other, making her lessons fun and easy to remember.”

Lois Moye, NC School HeroMoye teaches math at the high school. She has also been the Math Department Head, Homecoming Organizer, and the BETA Club coordinator, according to Jenny’s description. If Moye makes it into the ranks of NC School Heroes’ top ten vote-getters, she and Pamlico County High School would each receive $10,000.

Listen to Lois explain how she would spend the money – not only in the Math Department, but in Science, English, and other departments – and how her students are supporting her efforts:

You don’t need an advanced degree in math to figure the probability of her winning is greater if you vote for Lois and Pamlico County High School, every day on every device, at this link.
