Hoosier, Jeff and Ellen Troeltzsch’s dalmatian shows his spirit of the season to Eric Kindle. We have it on first-person account that Hoosier was demonstrative throughout the parade, but especially so at this moment on Upper Broad Street.
Patrick Baker as The Grinch Who Stole Christmas. In an unscripted moment a few blocks later, the Grinch met his match.
Keri DeLisle playing guitar and signing christmas carols on The Silos Restaurant float. They were judged to have the Best Display of Talent.

The Pamlico Amateur Radio Society also appeared to be advocating the importance of lumbar support.
No reindeer, but a few horses.
Jonathon Weiss brought aircraft to the parade.
An anagram for “float” is “aloft”, after all, and Jonathon’s Automotive had two such entries.
Paul Del Rio with the Coast Guard Auxiliary’s float, one of the only ones in the parade that actually could.
The Shriners’ professional mourners marched down Broad Street.
The Shriners’ gator greeted the crowd along Broad Street.
While trucks were everywhere, The Oriental History Museum opted for the old-fashioned parade style. They walked the route.

Along the sidelines, some fine headwear.
Part of a long stretch limo on the Broad Street parade route, with some of the spectators reflected in its doors.

Phyllis Westerman of Raleigh was in town for the weekend with her dog, “Cutter”, who took in the parade despite having been doused by hot cocoa. (Cutter was beneath a picnic table when the cocoa spilled.)
One of the dogs in the parade.
Not all canines walked the route. A few were on the Sykes Builders float.
A dogs-eye view of the passing parade. Here Sparty takes things in on Hodges Street.
Santa, as always, the final arrival in the parade.
